Garage Flat Roof Ballasted System Installation
The sequence of pictures below show a ballasted system being fitted to an old worn out leaking felt roof. In this instance, the old felt does not have to be removed thus saving labour and costs. The whole roof is first cleaned of any debris, chippings and loose material then the geotextile is rolled out to cover the whole base and secured by tacks or staples. The EPDM rubber membrane sheet is then pulled squarely over the entire roof and the overhangs draped down the sides. After about 10 – 15 minutes, after it has adjusted to the ambient temperature, it can be adhered down onto the facia boards and finished by fixing the aluminium edge trims round the perimeters.
